I was born and raised and currently live in Ithaca, NY, USA, a small town of great gorges and waterfalls. I am currently working as a yoga and stress reduction teacher. I teach and practice in the Integral Yoga tradition of Swami Satchidananda and using the mindfulness-based stress reduction approach of Jon Kabat-Zinn. I am certified as a high school social studies teacher, and am looking to work in that field. I am interested in holistic education that is fully engaged in caring for the soul of the world and the souls of students. I have recently been involved in designing and applying to start a sustainability-oriented charter school here in Ithaca. I am married to cellist and contemplative musician Elizabeth Simkin, and we have a four year old son, Cole. I also volunteer as a staff writer for Positive News US, a quarterly newspaper focusing on positive, progressive, and soulful news from around the world. I have been doing soul work in Jungian-oriented psychotherapy for three years, which has been a remarkable and invaluable journey. I am interested in participating actively in the new and emerging networks of people who are responding creatively to our current collective challenges with heart and soul.
